AUSTIN, Texas (SMU) - Sophomore Jenny Haglund shot a two-under 70 for the second-consecutive round to lead the SMU women's golf team to an eight-over 296 in the second round of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational on Monday at the University of Texas Golf Club.
Haglund, who is in fifth heading into the final 18 holes, was two-under on the front and finished her day with five birdies to lead the Mustangs.
Sophomore Alexandra Rossi carded a two-over 74 to bring her two-round total to even par heading into Tuesday's final round. Rossi shot an even-par 36 on the back nine with seven pars on the final nine holes. The second-year Mustang is in 20th through two rounds.
Freshman Katie Page shot a three-over 75 in her second collegiate round, finishing her day with two birdies. Classmate Lindsey McCurdy rounded out the counting scores for the Mustangs on Monday, as the Kyle, Texas, native carded a five-over 77. Senior Maria Elena Villamil and Page are both in 43rd, while McCurdy is in 55th heading into Tuesday's final round.
UCLA padded its team lead by a stroke on Monday, as the Bruins sit atop the leaderboard with a 13-under 563 through 36 holes. The Bruins' Alison Lee and Mississippi State's Jessica Peng are co-leaders on the individual side, both at seven-under heading into Tuesday.
The final round of the Mustangs' third tournament of the season will tee-off tomorrow morning.
