NORMAN, Okla. (SMU) - The SMU Mustangs finished the second round at the NCAA Central Regionals tied for 13th and seven shots out of eighth spot and a berth in the NCAA Championships.

Jennifer Park had a two birdies and no bogeys over the back nine for the second round in a row, and is currently SMU's top golfer in 10th position. Freshman Jenny Haglund saved par on 15 holes and had a birdie to position herself in 16th on the leaderboard. Park finished at two-over and Haglund at one-over for the day.

Alexandra Rossi also fired a round in the 70s, carding a 75 after tallying two birdies and staying at par or better over her last seven holes.

The Mustangs are chasing UC Davis, Texas Tech and Mississippi State, who are all tied with a 591 overall. SMU is at 598 and carded a 302 today. There are four other teams (Michigan State, NC State, TCU and Wisconsin) who are between the Mustangs and the pivotal eighth spot.

SMU will get underway tomorrow at noon CT on hole No. 1. The Mustangs are grouped with players from Wake Forest and Iowa State for Saturday's final round.

The top eight teams and two individuals not on qualifying teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, held May 21-24 at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga.
