DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU Mustangs are tied for sixth after the first round of the Dallas Athletic Club Invitational on Friday. Felicia Espericueta is tied for seventh, going one-under par on the day. Espericueta was one-under on the back nine to move back into contention at the top of the leaderboard.

Kansas State is leading by one stroke over No. 2 Oklahoma for the overall lead. Denver is two strokes off the lead. The Mustangs are 11 shots back.

Oklahoma's Chirapat Jao-Javanil, the ninth-ranked player in the nation, holds a one-shot lead on the field. Only six players posted a round of even par or better at the challenging Dallas Athletic Club layout.

Tomorrow's round two will start at 8 a.m. Jennifer Park will be SMU's first player to tee off, beginning her round at 8:45 a.m.
