WAYNE, Ill. (SMU) - Rachel Reid, a rising Junior and two-year letterwinner on the SMU equestrian team had a successful horse show at the Showplace Spring Spectacular in Wayne, Ill. this past weekend. Rachel showed a catch ride, Coltrane, to the Championship in the Adult Hunter and Adult Equitation Divisions. She was also the winner of the WIHS Adult Hunter Classic and took fourth in the M&S Adult Hunter Classic.

"Rachel has been a consistent and valuable competitor on our team from the get-go and was the recipient of the 'Most Improved' award her freshman year," Head Coach Haley Schoolfield said. "It comes as no surprise to us that Rachel has such success at outside competitions as her level of dedication and work ethic are hard to beat."

Reid, a native of Rochester, Mich., was a steady contributor all season and had a 3-3 record in equitation on the flat. She was also named to the NCEA Academic Second Team on April 4.
