SANTA FE, N.M. (SMU) --- SMU Equestrian riders Ashley Lewis and Katie Kotchka rode in fences and flat competitions in the Varsity National Championships at the Santa Fe Horse Park in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Lewis had the best finish of the day, finishing seventh in Fences #2. Lewis finished eight in her first ride, which was Flat #2. Kotchka took the eighth spot in both Fences #1 and Flat #1.
Kristen Boyert, Lauren O’Neil, and Chelsea Stevens will ride Saturday. Boyert competes in Flat #3 at 2:00 p.m. Stevens will ride in Fences #4 at 12:30 p.m. O’Neil has two events starting with Fences #3 at 10:30 a.m. and Flat #4 at 3:30 p.m.
