Nine Mustangs Recognized By NCEA For Academic Success

WACO, Texas (SMU) – Senior Julianna Fischer and junior Emma Roberts were named to the National Collegiate Equestrian Association All-Academic First Team, headlining a group of nine Mustang riders to receive academic accolades from the NCEA on Wednesday. 

Sophomore Schaefer Raposa was named to the Honorable Mention list, while seniors Ramsay Hanson, Lauren Hogan, Renick Townsend and Taylor McClung, junior Rachel Reid and freshman Erin Nelson  were also listed on the NCEA Honor Roll.

SMU received the No. 10 seed in the 2014 NCEA Championships, the program’s seventh berth in the event. The Mustangs will take on No. 7 New Mexico State in the first round of the event that will take place at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas, on April 17.
