WELLINGTON, Fla. (SMU) - SMU freshman Schaefer Raposa earned the first round high point award today at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Fla., after defeating Santana Wright (South Dakota State University) 90-0 in equitation over fences.
Raposa was one of 16 riders from across the country invited to compete at the Winter Equestrian Festival. She is 5-1 in equitation over fences and has earned MVP honors three times this season. The Mustangs are currently ranked No. 10 in the country.
Raposa will compete in the next round of the WEF tonight at 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT against Jennifer Waxman of No. 2 Auburn.
The Mustangs will begin their spring season when they host LSU on Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. at BuckBranch Farm.
