COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) - Sophomore Schaefer Raposa earned MVP honors to lead the fences team to four of the five points on the event, but the No. 10 SMU equestrian team fell to No. 8 Texas A&M by a count of 12-8 on Friday afternoon at the Brazos County Expo Complex.

Raposa posted a 92 in her victory on fences, followed by freshman Sylvia de Toledo's 90-86 victory in the fourth spot in the lineup, capping off four straight points for the Mustangs. Junior Emma Roberts and sophomore Alex Butterworth picked up the other two points with 76 and 74 points, respectively.

Junior Greer Hindle got the only other hunter seat point for SMU, winning her flat matchup by a count of 85-80.

On the western side, the first-year SMU program took three points from Texas A&M. Redshirt freshman Kristen Schramm and junior Courtney Line picked up horsemanship points in the first and fifth spot, respectively. Schramm (74.5) and Line (74) both edged their opponents by a point.

Freshman Morgan Redwine scored the Mustangs lone reining point on Friday afternoon, defeating the Aggies' Hannah Jechow 73-70.5.

SMU will take three weeks off before hosting South Dakota State on Friday, Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. CT at BuckBranch Farm.
