Results vs. South Dakota State Get Acrobat Reader

DALLAS (SMU) - The No. 9 SMU equestrian team defeated South Dakota State, 10-2, Friday afternoon at BuckBranch Farm. Senior Jordyn Pettersen and freshman Greer Hindle earned MVP honors for the Mustangs. With the win, the SMU moves to 7-4 on the year.

"The team picked up a great win today," head coach Haley Schoolfield said. "I'm proud of how well the team rode today; we're battling a lot of injuries, but the team pushed through. I'm also extremely excited for our flat team for earning their second sweep of the year."

SMU dominated the flat with a 6-0 performance, and Hindle earned MVP honors with her 75-57 win. Sophomore Renick Townsend also turned in a strong showing, winning her match 67-56. Fellow sophomore Lauren Hogan scored a point with a 73-69 win. Freshmen Rachel Reid and Courtney Line also scored for the Mustangs with victories of 74-65 and 68-64, respectively.

The Mustangs won equitation over fences 4-2. All-American Pettersen claimed MVP honors with an astounding 85-36 showing. Sophomore Julianna Fischer had an impressive performance in her 74-25 win. Also scoring for the Mustangs were sophomore Ramsay Hanson (77-66) and freshman Emma Roberts (83-75).

SMU hosts top-ranked Georgia at BuckBranch Farm on March 9 at 8 a.m.
