SMU Grabs 10 UEC Honors

Four Rider of the Year Awards, Five All-Conference Team Selections, UEC MOP

2015-16 (Jr.) – Competed in 27 events, 11 in horsemanship and 16 in reining… Tallied a 3-8 record in horsemanship and a 6-8-2 record in reining with two MOPs… In reining, was named UEC Championship reining MOP after a 132-130.5 win over UT-Martin’s Megan Aiosa and a 137.5-130.5 victory over Delaware State’s Elizabeth Koons… Topped then-No. 3 Texas A&M 70.5-68, then-No. 2 Auburn, 70.5-69… In horsemanship, won three straight events from Oct. 30 to Nov. 8, with an 71-68 win against then-No. 2 Auburn… Academically, achieved a 3.34 GPA and earned Beval Saddlery Academic All-America Second-Team status, which is awarded to student-athletes who competed in a minimum of 60 percent of meets during the 2015-16 season, and earned a cumulative 3.25 GPA...Also earned La Hacienda Academic Honor Roll for maintaining a 3.25 GPA.

2014-15 (So.) – Competed in 28 events, 15 in horsemanship and 13 in reining…tallied a 5-10 record in horsemanship and 6-6-1 in reining…earned one MOP honor (reining) which came Sept. 27 against UT Martin…competed at the UEC championships…competed at the NCEA National Championships and beat Kansas State’s Jessica Johns during the second round, April 16 in reining, 129.5-125.

2013-14 (Fr.) – Competed in 30 events, 15 in horsemanship and 15 in reining…tallied a 4-10-1 record in both disciplines…competed at the NCEA National Championships and picked up a reining victory April 17, during the first round.

Prep: Trained under the instruction of Terri King... Fourth in Western Riding at the 2012 AQHYA World Show...Took second in Trail at the 2012 AQHA Novice World Show...2012 All-Around Youth AQHA Region 8 winner... Also played volleyball, soccer, tennnis, basketball and gymnastics.

Personal: Anticipated sports management major and law minor... Picked SMU for the unique campus and the academics...Started riding at age 7... Parents are Steve and Vanessa White... Siblings are Corey and Kyle.
