DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU women's basketball team will hold an intrasquad scrimmage Saturday at noon in Moody Coliseum, giving fans the first opportunity to see SMU's top-20 recruiting class in action.

The 2012-13 roster is highlighted by senior Alisha Filmore, who led Conference USA in 3-point field goal percentage last season, and junior Akil Simpson, who was named to the All-C-USA team as a sophomore. Transfers Keena Mays, Kansas, and Korina Baker, North Idaho College, as well as four freshman combine to make what head coach Rhonda Rompola refers to as one of her best signing classes in over 20 years as head coach of the Mustangs.

Lexus Williams led North Little Rock High School to the Arkansas state championship, and was a High School All-America selection in 2011. Gabrielle Wilkins and Farrin Bell were both McDonald's All-America nominees and All-State selections in Texas, while Nia Jackson earned All-State honors after leading Liberty Christian to a state championship.

Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase SMU women's basketball apparel during the scrimmage. The Mustangs start the season Nov. 10 against Alcorn in Moody Coliseum at noon. Season tickets are on sale now. For ticket information or to purchase tickets, call the SMU ticket office at 214-768-GAME (4263), or visit SMUMustangs.com/tickets.
