Mays To Compete In College 3-Point Championships In Moody Coliseum

CHICAGO (SMU) - Southern Methodist University guard Keena Mays (Arlington, Texas/Mansfield Timberview) will participate in the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships at 8 p.m. CT April 3 at Moody Coliseum on the campus of SMU in Dallas, Intersport announced today. The 26th annual event, which will air live on ESPN, features 24 of college basketball's top dunkers and long-range shooters.
Individual elements of the contest include: Quicken Loans Men's 3-Point Championship, Buick Women's 3-Point Championship, Echo Battle of the Champions and Denny's Slam Dunk Championship.
Mays, who will participate in the Buick Women's 3-Point Championship, had a record-setting senior season for the Mustangs in 2013-14. The high-scoring guard, who was the 2012-13 Conference USA Player of the Year, was a unanimous All-American Athletic Conference selection this year and set a SMU record by pouring in 691 points. Mays pitched in 21.6 points per game this winter and drained a single-season, school-record 88 three-pointers, while converting 39.6 percent (88-for-222) of her long-distance attempts.
