DALLAS (SMU) - Sophomore forward Brittany Gilliam scored a season-high 18 points to lead five players in double figures as the SMU women's basketball team rolled to a 97-66 win over Texas-Arlington Saturday night at Moody Coliseum.
Gilliam established new season-highs in points (18), field goals (5), field goal percentage (.833), free throws (8), assists (5) and minutes played (24). She also tied her season-high with 7 rebounds.
Other Mustangs who scored in double figures included sophomore guard Jillian Samuels (17 points), sophomore forward Delisha Wills (16) and senior guard Katy Cobb and sophomore post Alice Severin, who scored 10 points apiece.
The win was the eighth in a row for the Mustangs; the last time they won that many consecutive games was in the 2004-05 season. The last time they won more consecutive games was in the 1999-2000 season, when the Ponies reeled off 12 straight wins.
