SKILLMAN, N.J. (SMU) - The ITA has announced that the SMU Mustangs have earned ITA All-Academic Team honors for the 2012-13 campaign. Alex Sanders and Nate Lammons took individual academic awards for their efforts in the classroom during this past school year.

To earn team honors a program must hold an average GPA of 3.2 or higher, while individuals need at least a 3.5 mark.

Sanders averaged a 3.506 GPA while also excelling on the court, combining with Gaston Cuadranti in doubles to hold a 9-4 record. The duo also went 2-0 against ranked pairs in the spring.

Competing in his first collegiate season, Lammons went 10-10 in singles including a 9-5 mark at the sixth position. He also teamed up with Pablo Perez-Esnaola to go 7-7 in doubles. The freshman won his flight at the Easley Memorial (Nov. 2-4) during the fall. Lammons currently has a 3.887 GPA.
