DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU Mustangs have announced two additions to their 2014-15 roster, with four-star recruits Sam Hoogland and Alec Josepher signing to play at SMU.

Hoogland, from Glenview, Ill., is ranked eighth in the state of Illinois and has been ranked in the top 150 nationally through all four years in high school. Hoogland advanced to the singles semifinals and doubles quarterfinals at the USTA Regional in Minneapolis in September in Minneapolis. Hoogland also reached the quarterfinals in singles at the USTA Midwest Level 2 Open Championships last July, while also advancing to the semifinals in doubles. His doubles prowess was shown at the USTA Regional Tournament Segment in St. Louis, winning the title and also reaching the semifinals in singles. Sam's sister, Kathleen, was a member of SMU's cross country and track and field programs from 2008-11.

Josepher, a native of Tampa, Fla., is the 20th-ranked player in Florida. He played in the USTA National Selection Tournament in both singles and doubles last weekend and reached the quarterfinals in singles at the USTA Florida Level 5 Boy's 18s in April. Josepher also reached the third round of consolation singles at the USTA National Winter Championships this season and trekked to the semifinals of the Seminole County (Fall) Sectional in October. Josepher was named to the All-Hillsborough County First Team this season by the Tampa Tribune.
