Men's Tennis Falls to USC in NCAA First Round

SEATTLE, Wash. (SMU) - The SMU men?s tennis team was defeated by USC on Friday, 4-1, in first round action of the 2005 NCAA Men?s Tennis Championships at Bill Quillian Stadium on the campus of the University of Washington. The Mustangs fell behind early 1-0 when they lost the doubles point and were unable to bounce back in singles. SMU finished the season at 15-13.

Junior Peter Oredsson won the only SMU point on the afternoon, easily dispatching Kaes Van?t Hof, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4 to temporarily tie the match at 1-1. The Trojans then won at spots six, one and two to push the score to 4-1. With the victory already in hand, matches at Nos. 3 and 5 did not finish competition and USC secured the victory.
