Nowicki Named To Conference USA All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas (SMU) - Junior Mischa Nowicki was named to the Conference USA All-Academic team, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Nowicki boasts a 3.70 GPA as an accounting major at SMU. The junior has also excelled on the court, going 10-7 in singles play this spring. The native of Herdecke, Germany is also a part of the 83rd-ranked doubles pair in the nation, teaming with Arturs Kazijevs to go 12-4 in dual matches. The duo has won its last eight decisions.

To be eligible for the All-Academic team, honorees must have a minimum 3.2 GPA and have competed in at least 75 percent of their team's scheduled matches.

The Mustangs have had a member on the C-USA All-Academic team every year since 2007.

SMU is now ranked 72nd in the nation and is the No. 4 seed in the C-USA Championships. SMU will take on fifth-seeded Old Dominion on Friday at 10 a.m. CT.
