SKILLMAN, N.J. (SMU) - The SMU Mustangs have jumped to the 65th position in the latest ITA rankings, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced on Tuesday.

The Mustangs (7-7) won three matches in three days last Friday through Sunday, defeating Marquette, Oklahoma State and 61st-ranked Idaho. SMU has won four of its last five matches and seven of 10 overall.

Arturs Kazijevs is ranked 124th in the country and has paced the Mustangs at the No. 1 singles position all spring. The sophomore is 9-4 and has won his last five matches. Kazijevs and doubles partner Mischa Nowicki are ranked 75th and are 7-4 this season. Nowicki and Gaston Cuadranti have each won their last three singles matches.

SMU has three road matches this week, starting on Wednesday at Illinois-Chicago at 10 a.m. CT. The Mustangs then travel to No. 31 Notre Dame for a 3 p.m. meeting on Friday before heading to South Florida for an 11 a.m. match on Sunday.
