DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men’s tennis team dropped a close match to Montana State at Haggar Tennis Stadium on Sunday, 4-3. The Mustangs fell behind early 1-0 when they lost the doubles point and could not manage a win at the top of the lineup in singles to get the comeback victory. SMU’s record falls to 8-5 with the loss.
The only Mustang wins of the day came at No. 3 doubles and at Nos. 4-6 in singles, marking the second straight day that SMU had strong performances from the bottom of the lineup. David Kuezer only grabbed his second win all year at the No. 4 spot, dispatching of Braden Olson 6-4, 7-6. Federico Murgier and Adolfo Solares were also victorious at Nos. 5 and 6. Murgier is now 8-4 overall, while Solares improved to 4-1 on the season.
The men’s tennis team is back in action on Wednesday, March 16, when they host Columbia at 12 p.m.
