COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) - After inclement weather forced a rescheduling on Sunday, the SMU Mustangs dropped a tough match to No. 9 Texas A&M, 4-0, in College Station, Texas, on Monday. SMU will return home for matches on Saturday and Sunday against Abilene Christian and UTPA.

SMU fell to 3-3 with the defeat, while the Aggies improved to 5-0. The match was the Mustangs' third this season against a top-30 team. Considering the change in schedule and the level of competition, SMU Head Coach Carl Neufeld was proud of how his team played.

"We played under tough conditions out there but the team took a big step forward today in how they competed," Neufeld said.

The Aggies took the doubles point with victories in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, then won at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 singles to clinch the victory. No. 1, No. 4 and No. 6 singles were all unfinished.

SMU will host a pair of matches this weekend in Dallas. The Mustangs will take on Abilene Christian at noon on Saturday and UTPA at noon on Sunday. Follow @SMUTennisM on Twitter for the latest information about the team.
