DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU Mustangs fought hard and won three matches over No. 23 Texas on Saturday, but ultimately fell, 5-2, at the Dallas Country Club.

Arturs Kazijevs and Mischa Nowicki teamed up to defeat the No. 13 ranked doubles duo in the nation, Chris Camillone and David Holiner, 8-3. The pair of Gaston Cuadranti and Alex Sanders also beat a ranked doubles opponent, No. 41 Alex Hilliard and Andrew Horinek, 8-4.

No. 83 Kazijevs also took his singles match, defeating Sudanwa Sitaram, 6-3; 7-5. Cuadranti took No. 43 Daniel Whitehead to the final set, but ultimately lost, 6-4; 5-7; 7-6.

The Mustangs will return to action on Saturday at the Lakes Tennis Academy in Frisco against No. 27 Texas A&M.
