Men's Swimming Closes Out Kerr McGee With Relay Sweep

Oklahoma City (SMU) - The SMU men?s swimming team closed out the 13th Annual Kerr McGee Elite Meet on Sunday in convincing fashion. The Mustangs won the 200 free relay in 1:21.05, setting its third meet record in the process and making it a clean sweep in relay events, as SMU won all five relays held.

Senior Camilo Becerra capped off his successful weekend by winning the 50 fly in 21.31. This was his second win of the event and he finished in the top two in five different individual events. Becerra was also part of all five SMU relay victories.

In other notable individual performances from Sunday, Ian Clark finished second in the 200 back (1:46.17) and Justin Smith came in fifth (1:51.54). In the 100 free, SMU placed four swimmers in the top seven. Becerra took second (44.51), followed by Per Nylin (45.71) in fourth, J.D. White (45.78) in fifth and Justin Stephenson (46.24) in seventh.

The Mustangs finished the weekend with 917.5 points and won a total of nine events. Complete results can be found here.
