Eight Mustangs Earn Spots On All-America Team

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (SMU) - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has recognized members of both SMU swimming and diving teams for earning Honorable Mention All-America recognition. Athletes who finish in places nine through 16 in the consolation finals of individual or relay events at their respective NCAA Championship received the honor.

During the preliminary round of the NCAA Championship of the 400-yard freestyle relay, Nicolai Hansen, Ryan Koops, Mindaugas Sadauskas, and David Larsson finished 14th. In the finals the relay team finished 13th with a final time of 2:54.09. These results earned all four relay members spots on the All-America Team.

On the women’s side, the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Nathalie Lindborg, Isabella Arcila, Monika Babok, and Nina Rangelova finished 11th with a final time of 1:30.07. The 400-yard freestyle relay team, consisting of the same competitors finished 10th with a final time of 3:16.37, earning the foursome All-America honors.
