Men's Swimming Falls to Aggies 138.5-104.5

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU men?s swimming & diving team dropped a close dual meet with Texas A&M Friday, 138.5-104.5 in College Station. With the loss the Mustangs record fell to 2-5 on the season. Senior co-captain Ferdi Postma won two events on the evening, touching the wall first in the 200 (1:38.53) and 500 free (4:32.62). SMU also took the top two spots in both the 200 IM and 200 fly to keep the score close.

Ian Clark had two top finishes as well, one in the 200 IM (1:50.19) and one in the 200 back (1:47.11). Ric Hampson took first place in the 200 fly, the second of SMU?s one-two finishes.

The Mustangs finished second, fourth and fifth in the two relay events.

In diving, SMU placed second, third and sixth in the one-meter competition and grabbed spots two, four and seven in the three-meter.

The SMU men?s swimming & diving team will return to the water Feb. 23-26, when they compete in the NIC Championships in Auburn Hills, Mich.
