COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Junior diver Devin Burnett won the platform dive with a score of 393.55 as the SMU men's swimming and diving team competed on the third and final day of the Texas A&M Invitational. The Mustangs finished in fifth place as a team.

"It was a very successful weekend for the Mustangs," head coach Eddie Sinnott said. "We improved our times immensely from our dual meet at TCU, which was our main goal."

In addition to Burnett, junior Hayden Hodges placed fifth in the platform dive with a score of 295.8.

In the lone relay of day three, SMU placed fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay as seniors Matt Roney, Ramom Melo and Ryan Koops and junior Giedrius Andriunaitis finished with a time of 3:00.83.

Senior Julian Fletcher led the Mustang swimmers as he placed seventh (2:04.97) in the 200-yard freestyle.

SMU earned 10th place finishes in the 1650-yard freestyle (Tyler Rauth, 1:51.26), 200-yard butterfly (Gabo Andonie, 16:06.04) and the 200-yard backstroke (Matas Andriekus, 49.36), respectively.

SMU returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 5 when it travels to Austin, Texas to compete in the Texas Invitational. The event concludes on Friday, Dec. 7.
