SMU Competes On Day One Of Texas A&M Invite

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Junior diver Devin Burnett finished third (371.4) in the 1-meter dive as the SMU men's swimming and diving team competed on day one of the Texas A&M Invitational.
In addition to Burnett, freshman diver Bryce Klein competed in the first event of his collegiate career notching a seventh place finish in the 1-meter dive with a score of 310.8.
Senior Ryan Koops led the Mustang swimmers as he finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20:50. SMU finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay as seniors Ramom Melo, Matt Roney, Julian Fletcher and Koops finished in 1:22.29.
Freshman Tucker Wells placed eighth in the 200-yard individual medley as he clocked a time of 1:51.13. The team of Koops, Fletcher, Wells and junior Matas Andriekus finished in a time of 3:20.79 in the 400-yard medley relay.
In the 500-yard freestyle, sophomore Eastman Holloway paced the Mustangs as he placed 16th in 4:38.5.
SMU returns to action tomorrow for day two of the Texas A&M Invite in College Station, Texas. Preliminaries begin at 10 AM CT and finials for those events will start at 6 PM CT.
