TAMPA, Fla. (SMU) - The SMU men's soccer team fell, 4-1, at American Athletic Conference opponent USF on Saturday evening. With the loss, the Mustangs fell to 3-10-2 overall and 2-3-2 in conference action, while the Bulls improved to 5-3-7 and 2-2-3 in conference play.
Junior Andrew Morales scored the Mustangs' goal in the 70th minute off a cross from sophomore Brenden Lee. Lee found Morales on a through ball and Morales connected on a breakaway for his fourth goal of the season.
USF started the scoring with a pair of goals in the 28th and 29th minutes from Edwin Moalosi and Steven Salinas. The Bulls added two more in the second half off tallies from Moalosi and Matthew O'Neal.
The Bulls outshot SMU, 18-10, and seven of those shots were on goal for USF.
The Mustangs are back in action for their final regular season game against UConn on Nov. 2. SMU's seven seniors will be honored at the match. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. CT. Find live stats and video at SMUMustangs.com.
