No. 3 Men's Soccer Falls 2-0 To No. 24 Washington

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (SMU) - The No. 3 SMU men's soccer team and the No. 24 University of Washington battled through a scoreless first half before the Huskies netted two second-half goals to pull off the upset in the Nike/Crescent Financial Solutions Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.
The Mustangs, who were outshot, 13-9, fell to 2-2-1 this season. The Huskies improved to 3-1-1.
UW got the game-winning goal in the 52nd minute, when defender Casey Cunningham served a crossing pass from the right corner, where midfielder George John finished a shot from the top of the box. The Huskies got an insurance goal in the 84th minute when forward Ely Allen lifted a cross from the left corner to forward Kevin Forrest, who converted the pass from in front of the SMU goal.
SMU's next game will be Thursday, Sept. 20, when the Mustangs take on Centenary College at Westcott Field at 7:30 p.m.
