Former SMU standout Kevin Hudson begins his sixth season (2012) as an assistant coach at his alma mater after returning to the Hilltop in 2007.
A four-year letterwinner at SMU from 2000-03, Hudson played in 84 games, making 66 starts as a midfielder, and was a member of SMU's 2000 College Cup team. He earned NSCAA/adidas All-Midwest Region first team honors in 2003 as well as All-Missouri Valley Conference first team honors. Hudson was named to a number of academic teams, including the CoSida Academic All-America men's soccer first team and twice to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete squad. He earned two College Soccer News.com National Team of the Week honors his senior season and was selected as the MVC Tournament MVP in 2003. Hudson was the recipient of the MVC President's Academic Excellence award in 2001.
Hudson studied abroad in Oxford, England, at the University College during the 2003 summer semester. He graduated magna cum laude from SMU with a bachelor's degree in business administration (finance) and a bachelor's degree in psychology in May, 2004. Upon graduation, Hudson worked for Ernst & Young, LLP, as a senior auditor and transaction advisory specialist. Hudson graduated from University of Notre Dame magna cum laude with a master's degree in the science of accountancy (MSA).
