The SMU men's golf team will play its second tournament of the season at the Erin Hills Intercollegiate hosted by Marquette. 14 teams will converge upon the Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin, Wisc., for the three-day event.

ABOUT THE ERIN HILLS INTERCOLLEGIATE
This first-ever Erin Hills Intercollegiate will include 14 teams competing over three days at the Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin, Wisc. The first group will tee off each day at 8:30 a.m. CT, starting on the 1st and 10th tees. The par-72, 7,234-yard Erin Hills Golf Course opened in 2006 and hosted the 111th U.S. Amateur Championship in 2011. The course was ranked 10th in Golf Digest's latest list of "America's 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses". The course is also set to host the 2017 U.S. Open.

THE FIELD
DePaul, Green Bay, Marquette (host), Michigan, Michigan State, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Oregon State, St. John's, SMU, Stanford, UCLA, Wisconsin. UCLA (No. 7), Oklahoma (No. 10) and Stanford (No. 11) are all ranked in the latest GolfWorld/Nike poll. Three other programs are receiving votes - SMU, Michigan State and Northwestern. Oklahoma is 10th in the GolfWeek/Sagarin rankings, with Stanford (No. 11), SMU (No. 31) and Oregon State (No. 45) also placed in the top 50. UCLA debuted at No. 6 is the GolfWorld/Nike poll and will be competing in its first event of the 2013-14 campaign.
Northwestern freshman Matt Fitzpatrick is ranked No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, while Stanford junior Patrick Rodgers is No. 4. Fitzpatrick is the reigning U.S. Amateur Champion and was the top amateur at the 2013 Open Championship. SMU's Bryson Dechambeau is currently ranked 30th in the WAGR.

IN THE RANKINGS
SMU started the year ranked 21st in the GolfWorld/Nike poll and 16th in the GolfWeek/Sagarin rankings, but have since fallen out of the top 25 after a 12th-place result at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational.

LAST TIME OUT
Bryson Dechambeau built on his strong freshman campaign with a third-place result at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational. Dechambeau recorded a 67 (-3) in his final round to finish one-over par for the tournament. SMU finished 12th as a team with Austin Smotherman recording a 23rd-place finish. Smotherman shot 71 and 70 over his final two rounds to climb the leaderboard after a tough first day.
