DALLAS (SMU) - SMU men's golfer Matt Schovee has been named an Honorable Mention PING All-American, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced today.
The senior finished his Mustang career by tying for first place at the 2012 NCAA East Regional, carding a 213, 3-under par at the Grandover Resort's East Course in Greensboro, N.C. A career-low 67 in the first round paved the way for the Englewood, Colo., native's top result of his career. Last month, Schovee was named PING All-Central Region.
The GCAA was established in 1958 and is located in Norman, Okla. The GCAA is a non-profit organization and is the professional association of men's collegiate golf coaches.
