The all-conference honoree took seventh at the NCAA San Antonio Regional, leading the Mustangs to their first NCAA Championship appearance since 2005.
Heading into the NCAA Championship, Dechambeau has posted 20 rounds of par or better over 12 tournaments, and ranks eighth in the country in final round scoring average (69.83).
SMU will tee off as the 24th seed at the NCAA Championship at 7:50 a.m. on Friday, grouped with Oregon and South Carolina. The six-day event is hosted by Wichita State at the Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan.
