NCAA Release

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (SMU) - The SMU Mustangs men's golf team was selected as the fourth seed at the 2013 NCAA Fayetteville Regional on Monday night. The regional is scheduled for May 16-18 at Blessings Golf Club and hosts 14 five-man teams and five individuals.

A top-five team finish would secure a berth to the NCAA Championships for the Mustangs. The finals will be conducted May 28-June 2, at The Capital City Club, Crabapple Course in Atlanta, Georgia. Georgia Tech is the host institution for this year's championships.

SMU is currently ranked 20th in the GolfWeek/Sagarin rankings and is one of two Conference USA teams competing in Fayetteville. Tulsa, ranked 47th, is also in the field.

In all, six C-USA teams will be participating in NCAA Regional events - SMU, Tulsa, Houston, Memphis, UCF and UAB.

Last year, the Mustangs finished seventh in last year's NCAA Regionals in Greensboro, N.C., missing an NCAA Championship berth by just five shots.
