Mario Clemens is one-under after one round at the NCAA Championships

ATLANTA (SMU) - SMU senior Mario Clemens carded a one-under 69 during the opening round of the NCAA Championships on Tuesday, putting him in a tie for 20th after day of solid scores in Atlanta.
Clemens, who was named to the Division I PING All-Central Region team on Tuesday, started the day on the 10th hole and boegeyed the 11th, but birdied both the 12th and 18th to finish his front nine at one-under. Clemens then traded bogeys and birdies over four of his next five holes to remain at one-under.
The senior spent the first round in a group with Daniel Walker of Richmond and Tyler Klava of South Alabama. Clemens will play with the same group tomorrow, being the last group off the first tee at 1:20 p.m. CT.
