SMU Puts 11 On Mid-Season All-Conference Team

Cleveland, Ohio - Eleven members of the SMU football team were part of Phil Steele's Midseason All-Conference USA Team released this week. In addition, Mustang standouts Ja'Gared Davis and Darius Johnson were named Honorable Mention All-Americans by the outlet.

Mustangs Kelvin Beachum, Richard Crawford, Ja'Gared Davis, Darius Johnson and Zach Line were first-team selections, defenders Taylor Reed and Taylor Thompson were second-team picks and Cole Beasley, Marquis Frazier, Josh LeRibeus and J.J. McDermott were third-teamers.

Phil Steele's College Football Preview is one of the nation's most informative preseason football magazines and has always released Preseason, Midseason and Postseason All-American teams as well as All-Conference teams.

The Mustangs look to extend their win streak to five on Saturday, when they host UCF in a rematch of the 2010 C-USA Championship Game. SMU is coming off a win over No. 20 TCU and is 11-3 in its last 14 home games, dating back to the start of the 2009 season. SMU is 14-4 in its last 18 Conference USA games and 8-1 in its last nine C-USA home games.

The red-hot SMU Mustangs are also calling for a "RED OUT" for Saturday's game. Fans attending the game are asked to wear red to show support for the Mustangs.
