DALLAS – SMU head football coach June Jones is set to take part in a panel discussion along with Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle and Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington at Positive Coaching Alliance - North Texas’ Coffee with the Coaches Presented by Insperity.
The event will take place on Wednesday, June 25, at 8 a.m. at the American Airlines Center and benefits PCA-North Texas, a chapter of the national non-profit Positive Coaching Alliance, which is committed to developing “Better Athletes, Better People” through youth and high school sports.
Jones, who is a member of PCA’s National Advisory Board, will join Carlisle and Washington to discuss their experiences pursuing goals as a “Double-Goal Coach” focusing on winning while still teaching life lessons through sports.
PCA Founder and CEO Jim Thompson and radio play-by-play voice of the Mavericks Chuck Cooperstein, who will serve as the panel moderator, will also be in attendance.
“PCA-North Texas is proud to host this event, convening the outstanding leaders of three of our area’s highest-profile sports teams,” said PCA-North Texas Chapter Executive Director and former NFL quarterback Scott Secules. “Such avid support from the Mavs, Rangers and SMU demonstrates the importance of our mission to provide all North Texas youth with a positive, character-building youth and high school sports experience.”
