DALLAS (SMU) - SMU sophomore Taylor Lasecki is one of 44 players on the Spring Watch List for the 2013 Rimington Trophy, the award organization announced this week.

The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the most outstanding center in college football and is named after the award's namesake, Dave Rimington, who was a consensus first-team All-America center at Nebraska in 1981 and 1982.

Lasecki started all 13 games in 2012 and was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team. SMU posted top-10 school efforts in scoring, scoring average, total offense, passing yards, passing TDs, completions, attempts, completion percentage and first downs among others, as Lasecki and his fellow linemen blocked for C-USA Offensive Player of the Year Zach Line.

The winner will be honored at Rimington Trophy Presentation banquet at the Rococo Theater in Lincoln, Nebraska on January 11, 2014.
