DALLAS (SMU) - SMU seniors Margus Hunt, Darius Johnson and Zach Line are among the players that have been invited to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine, February 20-26, in Indianapolis, Ind.
The Scouting Combine is the "job fair" for prospective new NFL players. Top executives, coaching staffs, player personnel departments and medical personnel from all 32 NFL teams will be on hand to evaluate the nation's top college football players eligible for the upcoming NFL Draft. This intense, four-day "job interview" is an exciting time for the 335 invited athletes and a vital step in achieving their dreams of playing in the NFL.
With the invitations to Hunt, Johnson and Line, SMU has had eight players attend the Combine in the last five years - current New Orleans Saint punter Thomas Morstead (2009), current Pittsburgh Steeler wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (2010), current Washington Redskin wideout Aldrick Robinson (2011) and 2012 attendees Kelvin Beachum (Steelers OL) and Josh LeRibeus (Redskins OL).
Fans can follow the event on NFL.com and on the NFL Network. The 2013 NFL Draft is April 25-27.
