Football at Baylor - Sept. 2, 2012

Football drops season opener at Baylor

Senior (2014): Started four of the first five games of the season at running back before switching to linebacker, where he started five of the final seven games... Had 34 carries for 105 yards, with a season-best 44 yards against Texas A&M... Totaled 49 tackles (27 solo), including a season-high 12 versus Memphis and one sack... Had at least seven tackles in five games (Cincinnati, Memphis, Tulsa, USF and Connecticut).

Junior (2013): Played and started in 11 of SMU's 12 games... Second on the team in tackles with 91, including 47 solo which was second on the team... Recorded double digit tackles in 5 games... Fourth on the team in tackles for loss with 10 for 47 yards, and fourth on the team in sacks with three for 25 yards... Had his 2nd career forced fumble against Texas Tech, and his fourth career fumble recovery against Rutgers... Finished the season with four pass breakups and 2 QB hurries... Played both sides of the ball the final two games of the season, lining up at running back... Had 11 carries for 89 yards with a long of 31 in his two games in the backfield... Also caught five passes for 61 yards with a long of 29.

Sophomore (2012): Played in all 13 games, earning one start... Notched 20 tackles... Recovered a team-high three fumbles and forced one... Scored a TD on a 20-yard fumble return in the win over Houston... Part of an SMU defense that posted two shutouts, tied an NCAA season record for pick-sixes, and tied for third in the country in total takeaways and second in fumble recoveries for TDs.

Freshman (2011): Played in all 13 games... Had 40 tackles including one sack for a loss of 10 yards... Had one pass break-up... Notched a career-high 11 tackles at Tulsa and added five stops in the Compass Bowl win.

2010: Played against UAB, carrying three times for six yards... Suffered a season-ending injury, and was awarded a medical redshirt.

Prep: A three-star Scouts, Inc. recruit... Was averaging over 180 all-purpose yards a game in 2009 until suffering a torn ACL... In eight games, rushed for 1,401 yards and 17 TDs while adding 76 tackles and a 39.6-yard punting average... District 19-1A Offensive MVP... First-team All-District... Rushed for 1,700 yards and 25 TDs as a junior en route to District MVP and honorable mention All-State accolades... Had four other scholarship offers.
