Prior to SMU: Hipps played four seasons (2011-14) as a defender on the lacrosse team at Duke, helping lead the Blue Devils to consecutive national championships in 2013 and 2014... Was a USILA All-America third team selection and team captain in 2014... Started 78 of 80 career games... Finished his career with two goals, 112 ground balls and 34 forced turnovers... USILA Scholar All-American... Three-time All-ACC Academic team honoree... Became the first lacrosse player from the state of Texas to win a Division I Lacrosse National Championship.

Prep: Was a two-year letterwinner in football... Caught 86 passes for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns in his senior season.

Personal:Son of Chris and Sandra Hipps... Has one older sister, Hutton Hipps... Grandfather, Claude Hipps played football at the University of Georgia and for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
