Records Fall as Mustangs Defeat Ark-Pine Bluff 87-50

DALLAS (AP) -- Bryan Hopkins scored 32 points, most of those off 3-pointers, to lead SMU to an 87-50 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Monday night.

Hopkins hit 9-of-15 from the field, including 8-of-11 from 3-point range. He made all six of his free throws as he became the 33rd SMU player to score more than 1,000 points in his career. Hopkins also had four rebounds, four assists and two steals.

SMU (4-3) took advantage of Arkansas-Pine Bluff's 30 turnovers, scoring 28 points. The Mustangs had only eight turnovers.

Eric Castro added 14 points, Patrick Simpson 11 and Justin Isham 10 for SMU.

Tamarius Brown led Arkansas-Pine Bluff (2-5) with 13 points and Jarvis Gunter added 11.

SMU shot 39 percent from the field for the game while Arkansas-Pine Bluff shot 35 percent.
