Mustangs Comeback Falls Short in 73-66 Loss to Nevada

DALLAS (AP) -- Nick Fazekas scored 20 points and Kevinn Pinkney added 15 points and 13 rebounds as Nevada remained unbeaten in conference play by beating SMU 73-66 Saturday night.

Nevada (11-3, 4-0 Western Athletic Conference) outrebounded SMU (7-5, 2-2) 38-22 and had a 15-4 advantage in second-chance points.

Bryan Hopkins scored 16 points for SMU.

Fazekas, who was 10-of-13 from the foul line, also had seven rebounds. Ramon Sessions scored 14 points.

Nevada was 24-of-30 from the free throw line.

SMU's Eric Castro had 13 points and Justin Isham chipped in with 11.

Nevada led 39-29 at halftime. The Mustangs return to action Jan. 13 when they take on Hawaii in Honolulu. The game is slated for a 11:00 p.m. (CT) tip-off.
