The Mustangs have played in two other international tournaments: The San Juan Shootout (San Juan, P.R.) during the 2000-01 season and the Suntory Ball Classic (Tokyo, Japan) in the 1986-87 campaign. SMU has also participated in two offseason international tours: Canada in 2003 and the Tour d' Africa in 2008.
