SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) - John Rybak scored 23 points and Dylan Hale added 14 as Texas State defeated SMU 91-86 Saturday.

The Bobcats (5-8) scored the game's first 12 points, never trailed and led by as many as 19 in defeating the Mustangs for the first time in seven meetings.

Derek Williams led SMU (5-7) with 29 points while Paul McCoy had 13 and Papa Dia 10 and 11 rebounds.

Cameron Johnson finished with 11 points and Ryan White and Tony Bishop had 10 apiece for Texas State.

The Mustangs won this season's first meeting, 94-86 in December, but spent all of Saturday's game playing from behind. The Bobcats, who led by double digits most of game, jumped ahead 19-3, led 45-27 at halftime and were up 52-33 with 16:56 to play.
