Liliana Hemme-Cassar is in her seventh season (2012-13) as the Executive Assistant for men's basketball at SMU. She came to the Hilltop after being part of Matt Doherty's staff at Florida Atlantic.
Hemme joined the Florida Atlantic staff after spending five years as the Executive Assistant for the President/CEO of Univance Telecommunications in Denver, Colorado; which created "The Hemme" award given out every quarter to a selected employee who displays the positive daily attitude for which she is known.
Hemme graduated in 1994 with a bachelor of arts in hospitality management from the Institute for Tourism Studies in Malta, Europe. After graduating, she worked as a flight attendant with Air-Malta. Hemme also completed two hospitality management programs at the Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland and at the Marriott in Denver, Colo.
Hemme is a native of Malta, Europe. She and her husband Terry, a staff member with the SMU Mustang Club, reside in Dallas with their sons William (2004) and Jack (2008).
