Sue Bierman is in her sixth season (2011-12) as the Associate Director for Student Athlete Academic Services after joining the A-LEC in January 2007. She received her B.S., M.S, and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. Bierman's major fields of study are Psychology, Counseling, and Higher Education Administration.
Bierman has worked with student athletes at Texas A&M, Sam Houston, and Butler University before coming to SMU. She lists the on-time graduation of SMU basketball student-athlete Bamba Fall and the graduation of five basketball student-athletes from the 2007 freshmen class as two of her career highlights in working with students in higher education.
Before joining the A-LEC staff, she was an Assistant Professor and Coordinator for Student Services at Butler University. Bierman has taught courses in Ethics, Psychology, and Statistics as well as instructing Freshman Seminar courses. Bierman has also worked in Residence Life, Student Activities, and Athletic Advising.
