Birdwell, Carter, Frölander, McIlhenny, Herrscher & Stewart To Be Honored
One of the great swimmers in SMU history, Frolander dominated the pool during his career as a Mustang (1995-98). Frolander was the 1998 NCAA Swimmer of the Year, winning the NCAA Championship in two events - the 100 meter freestyle and 100 meter butterfly. Frolander won the same pair of championships in 1997 and the 100 Butterfly as a freshman in 1995. Frolander also participated in six Olympic Games (1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012), representing his native Sweden. Frolander took the gold medal in 100 Butterfly in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, and also took silver medals in the 4x200 free relay in 1992 (Barcelona) and 1996 (Atlanta).
In alignment with the educational mission of the University, we engage the community in meaningful ways and develop the resources necessary to graduate Student-Leaders and pursue championships. Above all else, we prepare Students for life.
