The SMU Soccer Academy is one of the premier soccer camps in the United States. Coach McClements and his experienced staff of coaches direct the Academy. All camps are located on the beautiful campus of Southern Methodist University.
Residential Camps (ages 10-14)
The Residential Overnight Camp is designed for players who want to participate in a challenging but fun soccer experience. Once at the SMU Soccer Academy, players will be broken into small groups based on age and skill level. During the morning sessions, we will teach and correctly demonstrate the skills needed to improve the player's individual technique. In the afternoon sessions players will be taught tactics and play small-sided games. The evening session consists of full-sided games in tournament format. During these games, the players are able to demonstrate the technique and tactics learned during the day. At the end of the camp, each player will be given an evaluation that will provide feedback on how they can improve.
College Prep Camp (ages 15-18)
The College Prep Camp is designed for our older campers and will give them an opportunity to experience what it is like to be a student-athlete at SMU. The College Prep Camp will feature morning technical sessions based on the training conducted for the SMU Men's Soccer Team. Afternoons will consist of tactical sessions and small-sided tournaments. The evening session will feature full-sided games. Many of the participants in this camp have aspirations to play soccer at the collegiate level; therefore we try to assist these players by giving them as much insight into the recruiting process as we can. The SMU Soccer Academy employs numerous college soccer coaches who can answer any questions the players may have during the camp. The SMU Men's Soccer Coaching Staff along with the college coaches working at the camp will host a recruiting process panel discussion. The panel discussion is open to all parents.

The morning sessions will consist of detailed training in modern goalkeeping techniques. Such topics include catching, diving, breakaways, crosses and footwork. The afternoon sessions will focus on the fundamental tactics of goalkeeping such as positioning, distribution and communication. In the evening, the goalkeepers will join the field players to compete in tournament games where they will be allowed to demonstrate what they have learned. Each goalkeeper will be given an evaluation that will provide feedback on how they can improve. At the SMU Academy, goalkeepers can be confident they are getting the highest level of training possible.
