USTFCCCA All-Academic Individuals (Women's)
NEW ORLEANS (SMU) – The SMU Track & Field program received U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors after posting a 3.22 team grade-point average for the 2015-16 season.

Holly Archer earned USTFCCA All-Academic individual honors.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic list, the team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and the student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25. The individual must have qualified for any round of the NCAA Championships in the outdoor season, or have been ranked in the top-96 of an individual event or in the top-48 in a relay event during the indoor season.
Gaye, a senior in 2015-16, qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Round in the 10,000 meters after placing third to claim the bronze medal at the 2016 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Greenlawn, N.Y., native also put points on the board for the Mustangs in the 5,000 meters with a sixth-place finish at the conference championships. Gaye graduated with a 3.875 GPA with a Master's degree in sport management.
Archer qualified the for the NCAA West Preliminary Round in both the 800 meters and 1,500 meters as a junior, while also picking up all-conference honors in both the indoor and outdoor seasons. The Bury Saint Edmunds, England, native claimed silver in the 1,500 meters at the outdoor championships. The rising senior was a member of the second place distance medley relay team and a bronze medalist in the mile at the indoor championships.
Archer also led the Mustangs cross country team to a runner-up finish at the conference championships with a seventh-place finish. She completed the 6-kilometer race with a personal-best time of 20:47.8 to claim her third-consecutive All-AAC honor. Archer finished 29th at the NCAA South Central Regional to lead SMU to a third-place team finish. She carries a 3.382 GPA, while majoring in applied physiology and sport management with a minor in advertising.
