NOTE: A webcast is comparable to watching TV on your computer. You see live video and hear live audio from the game when available. However, it's important to acknowledge the broadcast isn't TV. The content is transmitted digitally over the internet and requires a broadband connection and the latest media player. The screen is small and action may not be totally fluid if the connection is faulty or traffic is heavy.
Yet, when a game isn't on TV, a webcast is invaluable in allowing you to see the action unfold. With the advent of webcasts, SMU athletics are more accessible to those who choose to utilize the technology.
For more information on Mustang All-Access click here. Upcoming webcasts information is available in the Mustang All-Access area of SMUMustangs.com (see graphic on the right).
LIVE STATS
Detailed live statistics known as Gametracker for football, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball is available for FREE at SMUMustangs.com for all home games. Detailed live statistics for selected away games are also available. All live statistics also available on the sport's online schedule, under coverage (see graphic on the right at the top).
PODCASTS
Beginning in the fall of 2007, the SMU Athletics Department will posts new audio and video content to its podcast feed. If you're subscribed, you automatically get this new content sent to you. You can listen and watch the content at any time. For example, you could download the content to your iPod and listen to the latest interview with SMU coach while you go for a jog. Check back soon for more information.
What is a podcast?
Podcasts are audio shows that you can listen to on a computer or an MP3 player. Unlike radio shows, however, podcasts can be listened to anywhere, anytime. Podcasts can be downloaded to your computer or MP3 player, listened to and saved, or a series can be subscribed to and new episodes will automatically be downloaded, as they are published, to a "podcatcher" on your computer.
